Thanks to everyone who came to the meeting of the CAG on 31 January, and for your continuing support.
Since then, I have been in touch with our traffic consultant Jon Pearson and discussed with him the draft vehicle routing and signage strategy (VRSS) which Marubeni have now finalised.
Jon is satisfied that the routing and signage elements of the document are satisfactory and reflect our interests as well as could be expected. In his view, there is still more to do on enforcement but he recognises that it may be necessary to work on that through arrangements we try to agree with Marubeni and Biowatt directly.
That will be the focus of the meeting with Marubeni and Biowatt which I hope to have on 22 February. I am waiting to hear from Marubeni about the final arrangements.
If that meeting goes well, I will then write to Dorset Council to state our position on the VRSS, and to say that we can support the strategy.
I will also work with different members of the CAG to develop our thinking on enforcement and in particular how we as a community can hold the developer and contractors to account. As part of that, I expect we will be looking for volunteers.
Once that is clearer, I will call another meeting of the CAG. I’ll also be in touch later this month about other actions point following the 31 January meeting, such as funding the work of the CAG.
Please post any questions or comments you have in response to this post.
